Arizona checked off another priority on its recruiting sheet: landing a Polynesian player.
The Wildcats landed a commitment from offensive and defensive lineman Kaisi Lafitaga on Monday. Lafitaga, who took an official visit to the UA over the weekend, announced his commitment on Instagram.
The 6-3, 290-pound Lafitaga also held offers from Alcorn State and Hawaii. The Tafuna, American Samoa, native is from the same hometown as former UA offensive lineman Jonah Savaiinaea.
Lafitaga is Arizona’s first commit from either American Samoa or Hawaii for 2026.

Hawaii lineman Kaisi Lafitaga is from the same hometown as former UA star Jonah Savaiinaea.
Lafitaga is the fifth lineman to commit to Arizona’s 2026 recruiting class, joining in-state offensive tackle Malachi Joyner, San Diego-area offensive lineman Nathan Allen, Bay Area offensive lineman Michael Langi and Utah defensive end Harvie Moeai.
